Players can be in one of three states: unconfirmed (player registered with an email address, but hasn't acked) active (player is actively submitting orders) idle (player has failed to submit orders for one or more turns) Once they join players interact with the game in several ways: participating on arete-test@phlange.com mailing list submitting orders to arete@phlange.com receiving reports from arete@phlange.com submitting orders at http://www.phlange.com:8080/~arete/orders.html viewing reports at http://www.phlange.com:8080/~arete/players Should move web reports from http://www.phlange.com:8080/~arete/players to http://www.phlange.com:8080/~arete/reports so that it makes more sense. That way all current turn data can be kept at the root level. The orders that a player gives should affect policy, not implementation. There might have to be exceptions to this, for things such as movement, but in general it should be the policy.
